Coding Camp

Virtual coding camp - text-based, cloud-based programming environment!

About the camp

During this camp, coding will be powered by Lynx, a text-based, cloud-based programming environment designed in Canada and free for Canadians! Lynx is ideal for students who are ready to take the next step after block coding. Students who register for this class will learn the basics of Lynx. Specifically, they will learn how to create an Interactive Holiday Card.

Introducing our evening coding camp powered by CanCode To Learn, where students in grades 4-8 will spend 5 weeks designing and programming their own digital Holiday Card, ready to email off just in time for the winter holiday season! Students will join us online working through Google Classroom and the Lynx Coding platform -- free for all Canadians! Free to attend but access to a computer (laptop, chromebook) and Internet during class time are required to participate.

What will attendees do?

Attendees will join our online classroom and learn all of the important elements essential to coding. Between online sessions, students will have access to learning materials and are encouraged to learn at their own pace.

After you enroll in this program, you will…

  • Get access to a new lesson which you will be able to access throughout the entire program
  • Join us for a virtual class (audio, screen share and chat only!) to review the concepts of the week
